The Strømme Group is composed of a group of companies with related activities. The companies are located at a shared facility in Sotra, just 15 minutes by car from Bergen:

I. Strømme & Co. AS owns the 5,500 m2 facility; the Strømme Group uses 3,500 m2 of the facility for production and administration.
I. Strømme & Co. also owns a 50% stake of Ista Eiendomsselskap AS.

The Group's history dates back to 1969 when Ingvald Strømme, the founder, first opened shop offering mechanical work and ventilation installation. In 1987 the engineering workshop became a subsidiary company, Strømme Mek AS. Strømme Mek has a steel, laser and conveyor belt department. The company is a significant supplier of mechanical services to the onshore and offshore industry.

In 1999 the Strømme Group took over Betex, a company traditionally focused on filter production for the offshore industry. The company is now known as Strømme Betex AS and is a significant supplier of filters and filter systems for the offshore industry. The company has a patent for a new filter product used within subsea technology.

Strømme Greentech AS was established in 2003. The company has both patents and expertise tied to unique environmental technology for the treatment of waste associated with offshore and industrial activities. Strømme Greentech has developed a mobil system for environmentally-friendly cleansing of contaminated water.
