INTSOK has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Kazakhstan Association of Oil & Gas and Energy Companies, KazEnergy, an independent non-profit voluntary association of legal entities. The signing of the MoC took place on August 26, 2010.
The memorandum aims at strengthening cooperation between the industry associations to promote the sustainable development of oil and gas developments in Kazakhstan through the use of innovative technology and utilizing experience from Norwegian Continental Shelf. The memorandum is meant to promote cooperation in areas such as training of Kazakhstani specialists in accordance with modern requirements, the expansion of humanitarian ties between the oil between the two countries, as well as other forms of partnership.

In support of the Minister’s briefing with US authorities in Washington DC and New Orleans, INTSOK organized a business round table meeting of Norwegian companies directly involved in supporting the US GOM Oil spill recovery effort resulting from the April 20th Deepwater Horizon disaster offshore Louisiana. The purpose of the meeting was to share the latest intelligence from field operations and the Minister’s briefings with US authorities; Department of Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), Department of Energy, and the Unified Area Command (UAC) which is the US command center responsible for the US GOM oil spill recovery effort.

A new report prepared by MENON Business Economics on behalf of the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy reveals that Norwegian companies, despite the financial instability of the last two years, have indeed strengthened their international market position.
The international turnover for the Norwegian based supply and service industry increased to NOK118 billion in 2009 (compared to NOK 95 billion in 2007), of which NOK80 billion represented export of Norwegian technologies and services; thereby directly contributing towards value creation in Norway.
